Lady Gaga’s single Born This Way is, it is safe to say, a runaway hit. People are already singing the songs and quoting the lyrics, which deals with positive reinforcement amidst daily challenges.
One person who is obviously enamored with the song is __ year old __ Aragon from Canada. She posted a video of her singing Born This Way while playing keyboards on Youtube. The video became a viral hit and has garnered record hits in the site. The video became so popular that even Lady Gaga tweeted it and called Aragon “the future.” Looks like Aragon may parlay a music career out of that hit video.

Metallica, one of the crusaders against online music file sharing, have announced that they might follow Nine Inch Nails and Radiohead in releasing tracks for free over the internet. Metallica were one of the first bands to sue people for copyright infringement and attracted scorn from internet users for helping shut down the peer-to-peer downloading tool Napster. Before Napster’s demise the band was among the most vocal critics of file sharing. Its drummer, Lars Ulrich, famously showed up at Napster’s headquarters in 2000 brandishing the screen names of 335,000 people the band said had been illegally downloading its songs, demanding the company block those users. But the industry has changed in the past eight years. Bands and record labels long ignored the threat of the internet and for a time refused to experiment with online distribution. But with physical CD sales in persistent decline and legal music downloads only partly making up for the lost revenue, the music industry is frantically searching for a new business model.

Japan’s pop/rock music scene has gone through a few different stages over the years. The rockabilly sounds of the late 50′s became popular in the cities of Japan just after they were inpired by the US music scene. Young guys and girls flocked to see the stars of the day do their best impersonations of Elvis and Gene Vincent at the Western Festival in Tokyo in Februaury 1958. In the 60′s, it was the Beatles and the Rolling Stones who inspired the imitation of local groups. Ereki (electric) guitar music was the in sound of what became known as the Group Sounds phenomenon. The best known local bands of the decade include the Tigers and the Spiders. The Tigers were the first band to play the Budokan, then the biggest indoor arena in the country. In the year 1965 – it saw the first successful tour by US surf-sound band the Ventures, who have maintained their huge popularity to this day. Record industry overkill finished off the Group Sounds era and the seventies saw the arrival of New Rock and the Idols.

There are plenty of music sites that provide great offers. These are the steps on how to achieve the benefits of online shopping:
Dont be confused with the downloaded and the streamed music. Downloaded music can be played anytime you want without the use of the Internet while streamed music can be played only if there is an active Internet connection.
Get the software that you need: RealOne, Winamp, Windows Media Player and iTunes for your MP3s and streamed audio.
Visit a music site to hear your favorite musician like PressPlay.com, eMusic.com and many more.
Check for the availability of the song on the site that you chose.
Know your artists official site for you to have their new songs which might not be available in other sites.
You must know how to compare different sites in terms of prices and plans.
Choose the site which offers you a great package.
Make sure that you have full rights to the copy of a particular music.

The connection between classical music and popular music is a very controversial question. Some partisans of classical music may claim that classical music represents art and popular music only light entertainment. But, many popular works show a high level of artistry and musical innovation and many classical works are unabashedly crowd-pleasing. The elevation of classical music to a position of special value is closely connected to the concept of a Western canon, and to theories of educational perennialism. The very distinction between classical and popular music has sometimes been blurred in the border regions, for instance minimalist music and light classics. In this respect music is like fiction, which likewise draws a comparison between classics and popular fiction that is not always easy to maintain.

Popular music dates as far back as the mid 19th century, and is subdivided into genres. Different genres appeals to different age groups. These often, but not always, are the people who were young if the music is new. Thus, for instance, Big band music continues to have a following, but it is probably a rather older group, on average, than the audience for rap. For some genres, such as Ragtime music, the original target generation may have died out almost entirely. With the increasing social and economic independence of young people, this “generation gap” has grown wider and wider since the second World War. Music hall and other forms before the 1940s were not so clearly marked by generation. From the Depression through the end of the war, Bing Crosby was the highest-selling recording artist in the United States. His fan base had no age division. The average Kraft Music Hall listener was 21 years old. But after Crosby’s semi-retirement in 1954, a large generation gap emerged. Elvis Presley became the most popular recording artist among teenagers, while Frank Sinatra was most popular among adults.
