Chris Cornell breaks out of the box
Chris Cornell’s rocked out rendition of the Michael Jackson hit Billie Jean received rave reviews, especially after it was further popularized when American Idol seventh season winner (then contestant) David Cook sang it on the show.
The former frontman for the band Audioslave has taken this to another level, teaming up with popular hip hop and R&B mixer Timbaland to make Scream, a crossover album where Chris takes his music beyond the borders of his comfort zone.
The reviews are mixed though, with some saying Chris should just go back to where he belongs. After all, a hardcore rocker and a hip hop mixer team up Cornell and Timbaland at that was not a partnership people expected. Other reviews have lauded Cornell for doing something new, but still expressed the superiority of his rock music.
