RnB music has been in the airwaves for a very long time. RnB was previously referred to as rhythm and blues. This was around the 1940s when rhythm and blues dominate the music scene. The definition of the term RnB was gradually replaced at the end of the Disco Era in the 1980s. RnB began to pertain to music types that have African American influences. It became the prevailing style in the US and around the world.
RnB is one of the most popular music today and it usually appeals to the younger generation. Listen to RnB hits and you will notice how they integrate the elements of hip hop, dance, soul and funk. Beyonce’s Irreplaceable, Ne-Yo’s Go On Girl, Justin Timberlake’s Sexy Back are examples of RnB tunes.
